Ma va’ là! Pedala! The first podcast from our bike trip is all about… sounds!
It took us about 2 months, 3.000 kilometers, lots of recordings, a few discussions and a quiet afternoon in a beautiful house that Firat (from Warmshowers) left for us in a small village on (our) way from Izmir to Istanbul… but here we are! The first episode of our podcast is ready for you to listen.
It’s almost “live”: we didn’t want to spend more time than needed to make it sound like a professional work because we are not (at least for now!) professionals in the field – even if I created and anchored one or two radio shows in the past. It’s also my first radio/podcast thing in English and I just have a small (and sometimes slow) tablet to work on all the editing. It’s not perfect, as you will notice, but it’s what we felt we wanted.
With this first episode we wanted to share with you some of the sounds we listened to in these first months on the road: soundscape is as important as landscape and sometimes even more evocative (and the world is full of sounds and voices we have to learn how to listen to).
As this is a first experiment, every suggestion, feedback or critic is more than welcome!
This podcast features a sample from Rotte distratte, a song composed and performed by Rocco de Rosa, a great musician and friend. To discover more of his music, please visit his website.
Enjoy!
